Teenagers Celebrated 'LIFE' Fully During the Oasis - Summer Leadership Camp |

It was fun and joy to learn 'Leadership' for some 40 teenagers (aged between 13-16) at Oasis - Summer Leadership Camp "Masti Ki Pathshala" during 28th April to 2nd May. During the camp they underwent training of Acting, Singing, Dance, Drama for expressing themselves in an effective manner. They were also introduced to various leadership aspects through Reading & Movie Shows. There were Debates, Group Discussions, Presentations, Reading & Writing etc. for daily 8-9 hrs. Literally, they were growing and blooming with every passing day. They even went out in hot summer days to Hospitals, Slums, Railway Station, Police-Station, Vegetable Market etc. and took interviews of common people/underprivileged people. They made a list of questions and asked them about their lives, earnings, problems, dreams, family etc. and it intensified their sensitivity for fellow-citizens. During these 5 days, they learned to take decisions in a democratic way. They took responsibility of keeping hall clean, arranging lunch, cleaning toilets. The camp started every day sharp at 8 am. These teenagers were so happy, they wanted to extend the camp for more days!!! In the fun-filled atmosphere, they learned many important lessons like values of a true leader - Self-confidence, Courage, Patience, Politeness, Decisiveness, etc. They also learned - Life is hard work and not just luck; One is responsible for one's own life; To get good friends, one has to become such. મને ખબર જ ન હતી- લાઈફ શું છે મને ખબર જ ન હતી- લાઈફ શું છે અને મારે લાઈફમાં શું કરવાનું છે? મને અહીંથી જીવન જીવવાની રીત ઉપરાંત સમાજમાં અડીખમ ઊભા રહેવાની તાકાત મળી. ખરેખર, હું મારી જાતને ખૂબ લકી માનું છું કે મને આવી ઓપર્ચ્યુનિટી મળી, જયાં હું મારી જાતને ઓળખી શકું. ~ ધૃતિ
એવું લાગે છે કે અમે અહીંથી જઈએ જ નહીં આ કૅમ્પમાં જયારે પહેલીવાર આવ્યો હતો ત્યારે લાગ્યું હતું કે સાવ બોરિંગ લેકચર હશે, પણ આગળના દિવસો જતા ગયા તેમ હવે એવું લાગે છે કે અમે અહીંથી જઈએ જ નહીં. અમને અહીં બહુ જ મજા આવી. લીડરશિપના નિયમો, લાક્ષણિકતાઓ વગેરેની જાણકારી મળી, અમે ખૂબ જ મજા સાથે શીખ્યા. ~ અંકિત
Out here I see a drastic change in me, my confidence grew I always saw the movie for entertainment but here I saw the movie for leadership. I learnt that my life is my choice! અમને બધાને ફ્રેન્ડશિપની બુક આપી તે વાત મારા હૃદયને સ્પર્શી ગઈ લક્ષ્ય પિકચરમાંથી અમે ઘણું બધું શીખ્યા. (જેમ કે) આપણને જેમાં રસ હોય તેમાં આપણે આગળ વધવું. આપણી આગળ કોઈ મુશ્કેલ ચીજ આવે તો કોઈ દિવસ ડરવું નહીં. બહાદુરીથી આગળ વધવું. ~ ચેતન |
આપણે જાતે જ પ્રથમ આપણા શિક્ષક છીએ સૌથી વધારે મને અભિનય ગમ્યો. કોઈએ ડરીને કર્યું તો કોઈએ એકદમ મસ્તીમાં છૂટથી અભિનય કર્યો. અભિનય એ વ્યકિતની આગવી ઓળખ ઊભી કરે છે, માટે મને તે ખૂબ ગમ્યો. મારા માટે સૌથી ઉપયોગી બાબત એ છે કે આપણે જાતે જ પ્રથમ આપણા શિક્ષક છીએ, આપણા ગુરુ છીએ.
પહેલાં કરવું પછી બીજાને કહેવું મને લીડરશિપના ગુણો શીખવાની અને તે ગુણો - પહેલાં કરવું પછી બીજાને કહેવું, સતત કરતાં રહેવું- હાર ન માનવી, સચ્ચાઈથી કાર્ય કરવું વગેરે જીવનમાં ઉતારતાં આવડ્યું. લક્ષ્ય મૂવીમાંથી લીડરશિપના ગુણો જેવા કે -સંપીને રહેવું, દેશપ્રેમ રાખવો, કામ પૂરા જોશમાં નહીં પરંતુ સમજદારીથી કરવું, ફેંસલો જાતે લેવો- ગમ્યા, અને તેના દ્વારા મારા જીવનમાં ઘણો ફર્ક આવ્યો છે. લીડરશિપના નિયમો, લાક્ષણિકતાઓ વગેરેની જાણકારી મળી, અમે ખૂબ જ મજા સાથે શીખ્યા. ~ દેવેન
અલગ જ મિત્રો સાથે બેસીને વાતો કરવાનું ખૂબ ગમ્યું, નવું જાણવા અને શીખવા મળ્યું મને આ કૅમ્પમાં આવીને ઘણું બધું નવું જાણવા-શીખવા મળ્યું છે. આ કૅમ્પથી મારો આત્મવિશ્વાસ ખૂબ જ વધી ગયો છે. આ કૅમ્પથી મને મારા જીવનમાં ઘણું શીખવા મળ્યું છે, જે મેં મારી જિંદગીમાં ઉતારી લીધું છે. બજારના જે શાકભાજીવાળા ભાઈનો મેં ઈન્ટર્વ્યૂ લીધો, તેમની ભાવનાઓને હું સમજવા માગતી હતી. તે ગરીબ છે પણ એકદમ ખુશ છે. મને શીખવા મળ્યું કે ગરીબ હોય કે પૈસાવાળા, પણ બધાની સાથે સારી રીતે વાતચીત કરવી જોઈએ. ~ દેવાંશી
આપણે ફકત આપણા વિશે જ વિચારવું ન જોઈએ, આપણા દેશ વિશે પણ વિચારવું જોઈએ જે લીડર હોય છે તે હંમેશાં પહેલો આગળ આવે છે એટલે કે કોઈ પણ કામમાં તે પહેલો જ રહે છે, અને પોતે તે કામ કરીને બીજાને કરવાનું કહે છે. આ ગુણ મને ખૂબ જ ગમ્યો. ~ ખ્યાતી |
જીવનમાં એવું સારું કામ કરવું જોઈએ કે દુનિયા આપણને યાદ કરતી રહે બધા મિત્રોને અલગ અલગ ગ્રૂપમાં વહેંચી દીધા ત્યારે મને નવા મિત્રો સાથે દોસ્તી કરવાની ગમી. અમને સંજીવભાઈ ઘણું પ્રોત્સાહન આપે છે, જેનાથી અમારો ડર જતો રહે છે. જે રીતે કાલે બધા મિત્રોએ જે જે કહ્યું તેનાથી મને મારા જીવનમાં ઘણી પ્રેરણા મળી છે.
હું શીખી કે ડર કેવી રીતે દૂર કરવો આ કૅમ્પમાં હું ઘણું બધું શીખી. આટલું તો હું મારી સ્કૂલમાં પણ નથી શીખી. આ કૅમ્પમાં આવીને મને એટલો બધો ફાયદો થયો છે કે આ કૅમ્પમાં વારેઘડીએ આવવા માગું છું અને કંઈક નવું શીખવા માગું છું. લીડરશિપના નિયમો, લાક્ષણિકતાઓ વગેરેની જાણકારી મળી, અમે ખૂબ જ મજા સાથે શીખ્યા. ~ કલ્પના
મને તો લોકસેવા કરવી છે મારે જે બનવું છે તે જાતે નક્કી કરવાનું અને મને બનવું છે તે બધા કરતાં અલગ છે. મારે ડૉકટર નથી બનવું, એન્જિનિયર નથી બનવું, મને તો લોકસેવા કરવી છે - ગરીબોની સેવા કરવી છે. ~ રુચિત
હું મારા જીવનમાં દરેક લક્ષ્યને પાર કરીશ માતાપિતાનું આદર, સન્માન કરતાં હું આ દિવસે જ શીખ્યો. હું મારાં માતાપિતાનો આદર્શ દીકરો બનવા માગું છું અને હું બનીને જ રહીશ. ~જૈમિન

It was a completely innovative and inspiring exercise for my son This summer camp was a totally different experience for our children. It was highly interactive and involved the children completely. The group discussions were very helpful and have definitely helped my son's confidence. While they may have watched movies earlier, but it was the post-movie discussions that changed their perspective towards learning from movies. Most importantly, the experience of going to slums etc has made a tremendous impact on them. It was a completely innovative and inspiring exercise for my son. ~ Alpa Doshi, Vadodara
The camp has helped her break out of her shell My daughter liked it totally and has enjoyed it very much. So much so, that (despite her now being in 10th Std with lot of other academic activities) she has clearly chosen Oasis classes as her topmost priority - she is ready to drop rest of the activities for going to Oasis camp. As a parent I am happy because the camp has helped her break out of her shell. તે કેટલાય કેમ્પોમાં ગયો છે પણ આટલું બધું ક્યારેય નથી શીખ્યો વત્સલ કેમ્પથી ખૂબ ખુશ છે. તેને અમને કહ્યું કે આજ સુધી તે કેટલાય કેમ્પોમાં ગયો છે પણ આટલું બધું ક્યારેય નથી શીખ્યો. તમારી મદદથી એની આવડતો અને talent બહાર આવી શકી છે. જે અમે parents તરીકે ના કરી શક્યા તે તમે આ કેમ્પ દ્વારા કરી શક્યા છો જેનો અમને ખૂબ આનંદ છે. કેમ્પમાં તમારી મદદથી તેનામાં confidence વધી ગયો છે કે તે જે ધારે તે કરી શકશે. વડીલ તરીકે અમે તેમને હમેશા ટોકતા - આ ના કર તે ના કર...પણ કેમ્પમાં તમે જે સ્વતંત્રતા આપી તે એને ખૂબ ગમ્યું - ' અમને કોઈ રોક-ટોક નહિ - સુઈ જવાની પણ છૂટ હતી' - આનાથી તેનો આત્મ-વિશ્વાસ વધ્યો. પહેલા movie ફક્ત entertainment માટે જોતા, હવે તેમાંથી પણ શીખે છે. Oasis નો ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર.
After the camp she showed a great change in her confidence level My daughter, is a very shy, introvert child. She felt fearful even to go alone nextdoor. However after the camp she showed a great change in her confidence level. She even travelled from Surat to Vadodara alone by train - it was for the first time in her life. She befriended many new kids. She learnt a lot in the camp, visited the slums and started accepting responsibilities. She is looking forward to the next camp. ~ Neha Dasadia , Surat |
We had never known that our son had this beautiful ability to express so well કેમ્પમાં જતી વખતે દેવેન અમારા કેહવાથી ગયો હતો પણ પાછો આવ્યો ત્યારે તે ખૂબ ખુશ હતો. oasis ના બીજા કેમ્પ માટે તેને જાતે તૈયારી બતાવી. તે એકલો police station ગયો અને કેદીનો interview લીધો તે અનુભવ તેની માટે ખૂબ યાદગાર રહ્યો છે. The camp had a positive impact on him and he is very impressed by it. We observed that now he recovers faster from emotional setbacks eg tiffs & fights with friends etc. As parents we were pleasantly surprised to read his writings about the camp, we had never known that our son had this beautiful ability to express so well.
At this age she is lucky to have such a kind of experience My daughter looks more confident and very happy now. Contrary to her apprehensive nature, Bhavya showed no hesitation or fear at all when she travelled all alone to baroda from surat for the first time. We have observed that she says "Life is my choice" quite frequently now a days, which conveys how much it has become a part of her awareness.
